Ingwaz Rune

Ingwaz Rune

Ingwaz is the 22th rune of the Futhark. It is also called Ing for short and symbolizes the ancient Germanic god of fertility. Ing or Ingwaz describes an inner fire that lies dormant in every human being.

It may take time for this fire to awaken and the spark to flash over to the person. But once the fire ignites, it can hardly go out.

It represents growth, harvest, peace and prosperity as well as reflection and meditation. To the seeker of advice, this rune gives the advice to give yourself enough time to solve a problem or a complicated task.

Because after this stressful time, the advice seeker can return to calmer moments. With regard to the future, Ingwaz says that an obstacle can be overcome.

Origin and Meaning of the Ingwaz Rune

The fire of Ingwaz brings spiritual fulfillment to man and makes him progress steadily. The symbol of the rune corresponds to a rhombus, which circumscribes the eternal circle of blazing fire. This diamond is also interpreted as Urei. Ingwaz also points one to the fact that one must let the past rest.

What has happened, has happened and one can only free oneself from it by letting go. The only thing we can influence is the present. This is where we should let the fire flare up. Ingwaz is also often used by magical circles and conventions as a protective circle, which is especially used in rituals.

The god Ing is in a relationship with the mother earth and therefore represents fearfulness and pregnancy. Ingwaz is therefore also male energy and represents sexuality. The power of Freyr belongs here as well. He is the Nordic god of fertility. Pregnancy can also be interpreted symbolically.

Maybe you just have to go through a difficult phase. But one knows that it will be worth it in the end. After the strenuous time, better times will come. It is important to take enough time for this and not to rush into anything. Redemption will come at the right time.

Ingwaz is bundled energy. In its sacred circle, this energy can accumulate and develop over time. As if a chick were growing in an egg. Quietly and hidden from the outside, something grows and germinates inside. At some point, the shell of the egg gets a crack and it breaks.

Unfocused energy flows out of it. It presents itself to the world in its perfection. It is not important that the world participates in the process of development. the result will present itself to it. Before that, the energy can grow silently and undisturbed.

The brain produces a multitude of thoughts during the day. Some reach our consciousness, come and pass. Other thoughts we pursue and develop. And still others slumber deep within us and initially receive no attention.

Our whole potential, our whole abilities slumber within us. Each of our cells is filled with a certain information. In every human being there is a talent waiting to be discovered and lived.

The task of us is to recognize the talent and to nourish it. In doing so, it can help to go within and look and listen carefully. Especially when meditating, this process can be crowned with success.

It is important to recognize the ideas that lie dormant in us and to nourish them. Similar to a farmer who cultivates his field. The soil must be prepared. Then the seed is sown. The field must be watered and tended.

Only when all these steps have been taken can a rich harvest be expected. Ingwaz stands for creation, for fertilization and growth. But we have to actively do something for it.

If we do not sow the seeds, we cannot reap the fruits. Even though everything is there within us to reach the goal, we have to bring it to light. It is there. It is lurking and waiting to be activated by us.

Fixed Ingwaz Rune Meaning

Ingwaz is associated with themes of new beginnings and completion. There is no reverse interpretation. One should only be careful if all surrounding cards are negative, because this negativity can then also be transferred to Ingwaz. Otherwise Ingwaz is always positive.

When Ingwaz occurs, most of them have the possibility to move in a new direction. If there were many problems before, the new beginning can eliminate these problems. A new stage begins and moves us forward in life. Perhaps we have been harboring a dream all this time and now it is becoming a reality.

In combination with other runes Ingwaz can be interpreted more precisely. If Berkana is present, then all signs speak for a birth. In combination with Fehu you can expect a new job. Gebu and Wunjo indicate that a new love relationship will be entered into. This can be a known person, but the rune also announces that a stranger will enter your life and enrich it.

The feeling of searching will retreat and make way for the feeling of finally having arrived. With Ingwaz positive energies flow into your life and in this phase you can also just have a little luck, no matter if in your job, in your private life or in love. With Ingwaz you reach prosperity. Whereby here not financial wealth is meant. Rather, it means that everything will stand well. It means that everything will be in its right place and we will feel good.
